Frustrated!!!

* * * UPDATE FOR BELOW POST* * *
Started Thursday - dry night
Friday - a touch wet
Saturday - dry night
Sunday - dry night
Monday - dry night from 9.30pm till 7am.
We're doing well! I say we, because I have to wake up to take her. A couple more days as we are, then we'll see if she can go all night.

I'm really not used to having time to myself with no kids around. But today is one of those days. I've done a couple of jobs for church but I look around the house and see things I *should* do, but just look away again. I'm passing the time waiting for my hairdressing appointment after lunch, so what do I do instead? Phone the doctor to check on Em's test results from Monday. And yes, she STILL has an infection!!!!!!!!!

We've done two courses of antibiotics now and neither have worked. Mind you I didn't really expect this second lot to as it was the same as the first one and that didn't work either. Why the same one? She had three options: cefaclor which she practically lived on for the past two years (that's the one that didn't work), trisul which is so disgusting she won't take it and nor would I, or amoxcillan which she has reactions to. What choice did we have?? So the doc is figuring out what else we could do and will call me back. Joy.

I am so frustrated by the fact she is still going through all this medical stuff. We have a hospital appointment on June 9th for her checkup, but till then...... it's another day. She has really been doing so well since we took her off all her medicines (except for the infection!) but I think we're going to have to make a more determined effort to get her dry through the night. I think that will be a big step if we can achieve that. So, starting tonight operation dry-night begins! Hopefully we might have this done within the week, or before baby comes. Wouldn't that be a bonus? Wish me luck.

Babysitter

We've finally started using one of the young women from our ward to be a babysitter for the kids. She came last night while we went to conference and it seems all went well. The kids like Arielle so we weren't worried at all while we were gone. Came home to find the girls in bed and Ammon watching tv and lying on the couch - think he's wrapped her around his little finger already. Not a hard act, he's achieved that with just about everyone else we know too.

Hopefully she will be ok, as Ammon woke in the early hours last night and vomited over him and I. I had gone in to check on him as he was grizzling, picked him up for a cuddle and bam! Covered. Nice. So a shower at 2.30am then into bed with us, and bam! Nate got covered. Haha. So what does Nate do? Moves to Ammon's bed. Ammon stays with me and is sick once more before morning, then again about half an hour ago. Oh fun. Shall we see how long before the girls or I get it? We think he probably brought the bug home from kindy as it's been going around for a few weeks.

So we'll be having a true 'day of rest' this Sabbath day as it's not fantastic weather outside and this boy is pretty clingy. The girls may go out to Mum's to play with Brooke and Elisa before they go home but other than that, we'll just wait for the next lot of puke (which thankfully is mostly flem now). Fun day ahead!

Bedrooms

Are almost done. The kids are now all in one room and I am putting the final coat on the baby's room today. Yay. I feel very relieved that things are more how I want them.
We're just in sit and wait mode, baby is fine but no stirrings yet.

I finished work on Friday and they gave me some money, so I went yesterday to spend it on little essentials for baby and me - nappies, flannel cot sheets, wipes, bath stuff, breast pads etc.... There really isn't anything else I can think of that I need. Hmmmmm except a cook and housekeeper, that'd be nice. (dreams are free huh!)

Em's Teacher Interview

There was no bad news yesterday, only good. But what else would we expect from our bright spark?
Reading: 'Above' achievement in word recognition, sentence comprehension and vocab, 'at' achievement in paragraph comprehension. After 3 years at school she should be reading at her age or end of level 1 - Em is reading at the age of a 10 year old or beginning of level 3 right now. Where will she be at the end of the year?!
To work on: to think more deeply about the text, learn the difference between facts and opinions, to locate relevant information from a range of texts.
Writing & Spelling: She is on track for her age, is a fluent writer who is beginning to add more detail to her stories, a capable speller.
To work on: using dialogue correctly, use similies and metaphors, to take care to spell basic words correctly (she writes too fast and misspells).
Maths: She is on track for her age.
To work on: subtraction facts to 20, practice her 2, 5, 10 x tables and using place value to solve two digit addition problems.

She enjoys responsibility and is in the extended literacy group and drama group. Her toileting is going very well at school too so overall she's doing really well. Her teacher is very happy with her, so are we.

Had a midwife visit today. I am now considered full term and baby can come any time. Not that mine ever come early! But this one is now halfway engaged and in a good position. I've been quite stressed over the kids bedrooms but have finally decided to chuck them all in Emerson's room and the baby can have it's own room for a few months. It might be cramped and Ammon will probably protest but it's what I prefer. I got one coat of a new colour on the walls yesterday, so as soon as the second coat is done I can move them all in then repaint baby's room. I aim to have this all finished next week then I will be all ready (in my mind at least).

Emerson's basketball

Emerson really loves playing basketball. She came home yesterday with the player of the day trophy and a certificate. Her second this season. I haven't been able to go watch her yet as she plays on Wednesday's, but I finish work next week so I'll be able to see her in action for this season. Mum says she is one of the best on the team, learning to be a good little fighter and her shots on goal are getting more accurate too.
She gets out in the backyard with her Daddy a couple times a week and that has made a big difference. He doesn't go easy on her either (to her frustration), makes her fight him for the ball and corrects her technique as they play together.
She was so happy when she came home and that's neat for me to see.
She is going to dress up as Pippi Longstocking for book character dress up day at school tomorrow. Leah is going to be red riding hood. A fairly quiet weekend ahead then Em's parent/teacher interview on Monday.
As I said before I have one week of work left, then 2.5 weeks till baby is due. I've got some newborn gear sorted (mostly in white for now), but still umming and ahhing on where to sleep all the kids. I need another bedroom in my house!

***EXTRA EXTRA - READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!
Here's a pic of the girls dressed up this morning (and Ammon). They said they enjoyed their day. Em came home with more big news - she has made the school jump-jam team. So that makes it basketball, choir, jump-jam and dancing each week! Thank goodness choir and jump-jam are done during school hours.
